Post Overview: Best spots to grab brunch in FiDi from a locals perspective
Creating a list of the best brunch spots in the Financial District (FiDi) was harder than I was expecting. I mean look, I like getting buzzed before noon just as much as the next guy, but it wasn’t until I set out on this feat that I realized how many mediocre spots there were in NYC.
That’s not to say there isn’t beauty in all those places (I know, I’m rolling my eyes too) but the disappointment brought with the $50+ bill that always followed was enough to drive even the richest man mad. The Financial District is known as the business heart of New York City.
This is where the big dogs come out to play and rubbing elbows with men in thousand dollar suits is just another Tuesday. My expectations for great brunch spots in FiDi were high (rightfully so, might I add). So I made it a personal mission to try as many brunch joints in FiDi as I physically could (at times I had to be rolled home) in order to create the perfect list for you.
I’ll cover everything from affordable spots to joints you can dress up for and celebrate special occasions. And of course, bottomless brunch options were not forgotten!
So enough talking on my end, let’s dive right in to the best brunch spots in FiDi.
Visiting New York City? If you haven’t decided where to stay (yet) check out our helpful guide on Where to Stay in New York City (The best neighborhoods for first timers +2 to avoid). Don’t have time? Here’s our favorite hotel in NYC, hands down.
#15. Hole In The Wall
Brunch Hours: Daily | 9 AM – 4 PM
The Financial District is known for being grey and gloomy thanks the the towering building casting shadows. So when you find a delicious brunch spot in FiDi that fills with natural day light — you run!
The menu at Hole In The Wall changes with the season, meaning the ingredients used here are of the highest quality and all the dishes are thought out.
You can expect to find classic brunch fare at an elevated level at this Australian eatery. Take the avocado toast for example. It’s not your typical bread and avo combination, instead it’s topped with seasonal ingredients that add both a unique flavors and dimension.
Hole In The Wall is also a great brunch joint in FiDi for innovative cocktails. Some standouts are the Brazilian Sunrise (rum, shochu, passionfruit, grapefruit juice, prosecco) and the Paloma Royale (tequila, lime, grapefruit juice, agave, prosecco).
Address: 15 Cliff St, New York, NY 10038

#14. Pearl Diner
Brunch Hours: All Day
On the corner of Pearl and Fletcher you can find the Pearl Diner, one of the best spots for brunch in FiDi. Having opened their doors in the 1960’s, Pearl Diner is one of the last stand-alone diners in New York City. Tall building surround the lone diner, but it holds its own as it churns out some of the best breakfast food, daily.
Pearl Diner is one of the few Financial District brunch spots that has planted roots and has been serving the community for almost 70 years. It’s a spot both locals and visitors have grown to love and continue to support.
Serving typical diner fare, expect to find classics like blueberry pancakes (my favorite!), omelettes and burgers. This is also one of the most affordable spots for brunch in FiDi. Most meals here will cost you less than $20 (that’s with a cup of coffee included!).
Address: 212 Pearl St, New York, NY 10038
#13. Westville (Wall Street)
Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday | 10 AM – 4 PM
If you’re a health-nut looking for the best brunch in FiDi then Westville has to be at the top of your list.
Westville’s menu is compiled of options for people with all sorts of dietary restrictions. Vegans, vegetarians and folks who enjoy eating out (but still want to eat clean) are all welcome here.
That’s not to say that Westville doesn’t cater to those without dietary restrictions either. In fact, I’ve found that this FiDi brunch spot is the perfect blend for groups who have many palates to cater to.
On the weekends, Westville serves up some of the best brunch in the Financial District. I recommend ordering the California Benedict which is eggs and Benedict but with hash browns instead of English muffins. The simple swap changes the entire meal and takes it up a notch (in a way I didn’t know was possible).
Address: 110 Wall St, New York, NY 10005

#12. Fraunces Tavern
Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday | 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM
I know what you’re thinking, what on earth is a bar doing on a list of best brunch spots in FiDi? Well before I tried the breakfast, I too was a doubter!
Fraunces Tavern is as iconic and historical as it gets. How do I know? Well for starters this is the same spot George Washington bid an emotional farewell to his commanding officers. Yes I’m referring to the George Washington AKA the first president of the United States of America. Not many other brunch spots in FiDi can say the same.
Seven days of the week folks come to this bar to unwind with a cold beer and put a temporary pause on life. But what a lot of people don’t realize is the two of those days, Fraunces Tavern serves some of the best brunch in the Financial District!
You can anticipate classic dishes like French toast and eggs Benedict, however, where this FiDi brunch spot really shines is with the pub-style brunch fare. I’m talking lobster mac’n’cheese, chicken wings and chipotle bison burgers to name a few.
This is a “keep the napkins close” kind of joint. A place where messy eating is not only accepted but encouraged. The unfussy menu in the historical setting is hard to beat.
Local’s Tip: Head upstairs to the museum showing what the tavern would have looked like during the revolution.
Address: 54 Pearl St, New York, NY 10004

#10. The Fulton by Jean-Georges
Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday | 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM
One of the best brunch spots in FiDi for waterfront dining is The Fulton. The jaw-dropping views of the Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO make any meal a memorable one.
The restaurant can be found on the first floor of Pier 17 and oozes a modern, elegant vibe. You won’t be out of place if you choose to clean up a bit. The Fulton is a great spot for an anniversary or intimate birthday.
There are floor to ceiling windows that help it stay open regardless of the season or weather. Hell, I even had a reservation once on a foggy day and debated on canceling, but I’m so glad I didn’t. There was still beauty to be found through all the gloominess.
And when the weather is nice they open up the windows and have outdoor dining available too. It’s a win-win, you can visit any day of the year and be thoroughly impressed.
The menu is made up of a modern take on American seafood and not only does the food taste incredible, the looks alone will have your mouth watering. Add in a little wine and there are few better spots to grab brunch in FiDI.
Address: 89 South St, New York, NY 10038

#11. Malibu Farm
Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday | 11 AM – 3 PM
Right next to The Fulton on Pier 17 is Malibu Farm, another great spot for brunch in FiDi.
Whereas The Fulton is upscale and elegant, I’d say Malibu Farm is more casual. Part of a chain of restaurants that stem from Malibu, you can almost feel the relaxed, sunny atmosphere.
The food has a farm-to-table approach and each plate is colorful and savory. All the plates are reminiscent of hearty meals on a California beach.
A non-negotiable dish for me is the hot skillet coconut French toast. It’s fluffy pieces of brioche toast served with warm maple syrup, whipped cream and a seasonal compote. Even if you’re a savory-over-sweets fan, trust me and try it!
Fair warning though, since Malibu Farm is one of the more popular brunch spots in FiDi, long lines are inevitable. Be sure to make reservations in advance to avoid having to wait.
Address: 89 South St, New York, NY 10038

#9. George’s Restaurant
Brunch Hours: All Day
Located in the heart of the Financial District is George’s Restaurant, one of the best diners to grab brunch in FiDi. Now if I’m being completely honest, the food here isn’t going to blow your mind. But the reason I feel comfortable adding George’s to our list of best brunch spots in the Financial District is due to the convenience and history.
First off, they serve breakfast food all day. No need to set an alarm and fight tooth and nail for a weekend table. Secondly, the portions are huge and most dishes will cost you $10-$16! This FiDi brunch spot is perfect for groups, specifically after a night of drinking (don’t ask me why I know that).
As far are history goes, George’s was established in 1950 and thrived up until the horrific tragedy on September 11th, 2001. The tragic attacks that day caused an irreplaceable amount of damage not only for the local people but for the whole country.
Many local business were affected in the event and were forced to shut down. But owner George Koulmentas and his son made it their personal mission to rebuild and open their doors once again. After a year of rebuilding the joint from scratch, George came back — only this time with an added second story and redesigned space.
Today, George’s Restaurant serves as an oasis and folks from all over gather under one roof to enjoy some classic diner fare.
Address: 89 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10006

#8. Broadstone Bar & Kitchen
Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday | 11:30 AM – 5 PM
If you and alcohol are on a first name basis then I’ve got just the spot for you. One of the best spots for bottomless brunch in FiDi is Broadstone Bar & Kitchen.
For less than $30 (and the purchase of an entree, of course) patrons will receive unlimited brunch drinks for 90 minutes. Options like strawberry Bellinis, mimosas and even a Broadstone lager are up for grabs during the bottomless brunch special.
This is also one of the best brunch spots in FiDi for those who like to sleep in. With the brunch special running until 5:00 PM, there is no rush (or judgement) ordering French toast at 3 PM on a Sunday.
If you’re looking for recommendations, I always order the brunch burger (hello, who doesn’t love a runny egg on their burger?) and the Broadstone spicy Bloody Mary (and yes, it is actually spicy).
Address: 88 Broad St, New York, NY 10004

#7. Harry’s
Brunch Hours: Sunday | 11:30 AM – 5 PM
If you’re looking for an affordable fine-dining experience, this Financial District brunch spot might just be up to par.
Harry’s is a steakhouse that looks fancier than it actually is (which is a good thing). The interior doesn’t match the price tag (phew) and it’s another solid bottomless brunch spot in FiDi.
Every Sunday, Harry’s offers a champagne brunch special. With the purchase of an entree, for 90 minutes you’ll be served complimentary champagne with your meal.
Now before you attack me for calling this FiDI brunch spot affordable, I’m not necessarily claiming it’s a $20/per person type-of-joint. Instead I mean it’s a spot where you can dress up and celebrate a special occasion without breaking the bank.
Thanks to the complementary champagne during brunch, alcohol won’t be an added expense. So keeping your tab under $100 for two isn’t impossible (unless you’re go-to order is steak, then you’re on your own).
Address: 1 Hanover Square, New York, NY 10004
#6. Toro Loco
Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday | 11:30 AM – 5 PM
In the spirit of keeping the bottomless brunch in FiDi train going, the next spot for a killer deal is Toro Loco. Located on Stone Street, this Mexican eatery draws in crowds from all over thanks to the $30 bottomless brunch special.
For 90 minutes you can feast on delicious classic American and Mexican-style dishes with a constant flow of unlimited brunch cocktails. Of course you can get a tried-and-true mimosa or you can switch it up with frozen margaritas, bloody Mary’s or a Michelada.
The only catch is that the whole table must participate. Which shouldn’t be difficult since this is one of the best brunch spots in FiDi, both the menu and atmosphere will make it easy to want to stay a while.
But wait there’s more! If you happen to stumble upon Toro Loco for Sunday brunch, come prepared because they host a drag show at 12:30 and 3 PM. Not many other brunch spots in FiDi can offer the same level of entertainment.
Address: 15 Stone St, New York, NY 10004
#5. La Parisienne
Brunch Hours: Daily until 4 PM
If you’ve ever visited France you’ll feel right at home in La Parisienne. The FiDi brunch destination is owned and operated by a French couple and curates a vibe reminiscent of the shoebox sized cafes in Paris.
The menu consists of a small array of breakfast staples like ham & cheese croissants, french toast and a variety of “croque” plates. Each meal is made with fresh ingredients that translate to colorful and vibrant concoctions of flavorful goodness.
The service is friendly and quick, but I will say this isn’t the type of brunch restaurant in FiDi for long stays chatting over coffee. Since the seating is very limited, La Perisienne asks folks to be mindful of the need to get more patrons in.
Address: 9 Maiden Ln, New York, NY 10038

#4. The Paris Cafe
Saturday & Sunday | 12 – 4 PM
The Paris Cafe is one of New York City’s oldest establishments, having opened up shop 150 years ago in 1873. The likes of Thomas Edison, Teddy Roosevelt and Bob Dylan have all been patrons of the Financial District brunch hot-spot and now you can be too.
I’ll admit, if you look closely the restaurant looks old, but I choose to view that as added character. The bar is reminiscent of old New York and the tables and booths are, vintage. 😉
However the food is what really matters, and the Financial District brunch destination won’t let you down. The menu is small and has classic dishes like avocado toast, pancakes and eggs benedict (I wonder what Roosevelt ordered?).
And there’s a few brunch cocktails available to choose from to make this a memorable boozy brunch in the Financial District. Be sure to bring a friend because drinking alone is never as fun.
Address: 19 South Street, 119 Peck Slip, New York, NY 10038

#3. Industry Kitchen
Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday | 11 AM – 4 PM
One of my personal favorite brunch spots in the Financial District is Industry Kitchen. The waterfront restaurant is both modern and chic and the unobstructed views of the East River are some of the most calming.
When it comes to the cuisine, anything goes at Industry Kitchen. You can expect to find all sorts of dishes, like strawberry shortcake waffles and grilled pinwheel sausages all the way to lobster omelets and wood-fired pizzas.
This FiDi brunch joint checks all the boxes as far as meeting spaces go. You can meet with friends for a drink, link up with a date or treat the in-laws to a relaxing weekend brunch.
Like me, half of the city considers Industry Kitchen some of the best brunch in FiDi. Make reservations in advance to guarantee a table.
Address: 70 10005 South St At, New York, NY 10005

#2. The Malt House
Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday | 11 AM – 4 PM
The Malt House is one of my personal favorite bottomless boozy brunch spots in FiDi. Serving craft beers, creative cocktails and delicious brunch fare, don’t be alarmed when you accidentally become a regular. 😉
With two locations (Greenwich Village & Financial District) Malt House provides double the opportunity to partake in a fun bottomless brunch. With the purchase of a brunch entree you’ll have access to 90 minutes of bottomless brunch cocktails.
These aren’t your basic drinks either. Sure, there are mimosas and sangrias, but there’s a few unique drinks too. The maltmosa, made with wheat beer, champagne and orange juice is especially memorable.
Truthfully speaking, the food isn’t as impressive as the drinks. The dishes do a good job of keeping you from drinking too much too quickly, but ultimately the bottomless drinks are why you’re there.
Address: 9 Maiden Ln, New York, NY 10038

#1. Cowgirl SeaHorse
Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday | 11 AM – 4 PM
A hodgepodge of different cuisines, Cowgirl Seahorse blends the flavors of Tex-Mex, Gulf-Coast seafood and southern-styled restaurants.
Fish tacos, chicken and waffles and gravy and eggs make this a can’t miss FiDi brunch restaurant. With that said, that’s just what I’m into – they have one of the biggest menus for brunch in the Financial District.
Furthermore, the decorations and charm of the restaurant set the tone from the second you walk in. Call it southern hospitality, but the staff is welcoming and I’ve never had a bad experience at Cowgirl Seahorse (and I’ve visited nearly a dozen times!).
The hot-spot brunch destination in FiDi is a great local joint too. There aren’t too many (obvious) visitors, mostly just laid back neighborhood locals enjoying a casual brunch in the Financial District.
Address: 259 Front St, New York, NY 10038
