This list of the best happy hour in Times Square was written by Alejandro Beltran, co-founder of New York Simply (an official partner of Apple Maps) and a NYC local.
Times Square sees an average of more than 350,000 pedestrians daily, and plenty of bars and restaurants are eager to host the crowds. However, many may not realize that there are plenty of Times Square happy hours, which provide an indispensable way to save some cash.
Between classy rooftop bars, half-off Cuban empanadas, and discounted vodka shots, here are the best happy hour deals in Times Square based on my local experience.

Castell Rooftop
Website: Castell
Address: AC Hotel, 260 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018
Happy hour: Monday through Friday, 4 – 6PM
Enjoy the iconic New York City skyline at Castell Rooftop Lounge during happy hour in Times Square. This sophisticated spot offers classic cocktails, including margaritas and old fashioned for $12, wine for $10, and beer for $6 from 4-6 pm on weekdays.
The opulent lounge-style seating provides a celebrity-like experience without breaking the bank. Castell is one of the best spots for happy hour in Times Square if you want to impress someone special or treat yourself (and your wallet) to a good time.
The Rum House
Website: The Rum House
Address: 228 W 47th St, New York, NY 10036
Happy hour: Monday through Friday, 4 – 6 PM
The Rum House stands out in Times Square’s happy hour scene, offering a swanky setting and expertly crafted cocktails. The wood tones, tiled floors, and candle-lit tables give an old-world but posh atmosphere. There’s a slight speakeasy vibe thanks to the 20th-century decor.
The Times Square happy hour spot has select $10 craft cocktails that rotate with the menu. There’s also $5 beer and house wine, but the craft cocktails are what they’re known for.
Margaritaville
Website: Margaritaville
Address: 560 7th Ave, New York, NY 10018
Happy hour: Monday through Friday, 11AM – 6PM
Whether you’re a Jimmy Buffet fan or not, visiting Margaritaville is an unforgettable experience. Named after the American musician’s hit song, Margaritaville, the hotel & urban resort has a sunny Florida vibe in the middle of Manhattan.
There are four bars inside Margaritaville, but the namesake Margaritaville Bar and Restaurant is home to the best happy hour in Times Square. You’ll get to partake in $5 domestic draft beer, $6 well drinks, and $7 house margaritas. If you’re visiting with friends and need a quick bite, there are also $8 fried pickles and $9 spinach and artichoke dip.
Mr. Bigg’s
Website: Mr. Bigg’s
Address: 596 10th Ave, New York, NY 10036
Happy hour: Daily, all day
Mr. Bigg’s epitomizes the quintessential NYC dive bar experience. It’s a local favorite known for its laid-back vibe and affordable drinks that rarely sees an empty seat. The brick walls are home to a handful of television screens (that are usually playing sports) and the bartenders are friendly.
The main attraction is the unbeatable drink prices, courtesy of their can’t-miss happy hour in Times Square. With select shots and beers priced at just $4 all day, every day, it’s a steal.
Russian Vodka Room
Website: Russian Vodka Room
Address: 265 W 52nd St, New York, NY 10019
Happy hour: Monday through Friday, 4 – 7PM
The Russian Vodka Room stands out as one of the rare happy hour spots near Times Square, where locals dominate the scene. Stepping inside might feel like a brief trip to Eastern Europe, thanks to the frenzy of accents that fill the place.
The highlight? Their infused vodka shots have a wide range of flavors to choose from. At just $5 each, it’s easy to try a few, but I highly recommend the cranberry shot.
Along with the $5 infused shots of vodka, you’ll also find $5 beer, $8 martinis, and $4 regular shots of vodka. As can be expected with Russian hospitality, the pours are generous and strong, which is why the Russian Vodka Room is a can’t-miss happy hour in Times Square.
Printer’s Alley
Website: Printer’s Alley
Address: 215 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018
Happy hour: Daily from 11AM to 7PM.
Groups searching for a great happy hour in Times Square before a Broadway show or fun night out should check out Printer’s Alley. This trendy sports bar kicks off happy hour at 11 AM daily, offering drink specials under $10. With vibrant music and a lively atmosphere, it’s ideal to gather with friends for a pregame session before hitting the town. Making reservations is highly recommended for larger groups to secure your spot at Times Square’s top happy hour destination.
O’Donoghue’s
Website: O’Donoghue’s
Address: 156 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036
Happy hour: Monday through Friday, 4 – 7PM
O’Donoghue’s combines the cozy ambiance of an Irish pub with the hustle of a Manhattan restaurant. With 24 beers on tap and over 10 TVs, it’s a top choice for sports fans during happy hour in Times Square. Catch football, basketball, and baseball games while unwinding with affordable $5 beers. Although classic Irish pub food isn’t on the happy hour menu, I highly recommend trying the bangers and mash(essentially sausages and mashed potatoes) for a satisfying meal.
Dos Caminos
Website: Dos Caminos
Address: 1567 Broadway, New York, NY 10036
Happy hour: Monday through Friday, 3 – 6PM and 9PM to close
Dos Caminos in Times Square stands out as a top contender in a city known for its happy hour margaritas. With three options including traditional frozen, house margarita, and prickly pear, there’s something for everyone. Plus, there are Mexican beers like Tecate, Corona, and Pacifico for as little as $6.
While the happy hour menu offers appetizer-sized portions, the queso fundido is a must-try for sharing. Note that happy hour is exclusively available at the bar, making Dos Caminos perfect for a pre-Broadway show or concert drink but not ideal for a dinner happy hour in Times Square.
The Mean Fiddler
Website: The Mean Fiddler
Address: 266 W 47th St, New York, NY 10036
Happy hour: Monday through Thursday, 2 – 11PM, Friday 2 – 9PM, Saturday 12 – 9PM, Sunday 12 – 11PM
Famous for offering a special for nearly every occasion, attracting locals and tourists alike looking for inexpensive drinks and high-energy. The Irish pub has one of the latest happy hour deals in Times Square, running until 9 PM most nights.
The deals rotate often (like a bottomless dinner, discounted cocktails, etc.), but a happy hour mainstay has been the $30 beer buckets with your choice of six Heineken Silvers, High Noons, Bud Lights, or PBRs. The pub also frequently discounts its cocktails, and its frozen margarita is a crowd favorite.
Havana Central
Website: Havana Central
Address: 151 W 46th St, New York, NY 10036
Happy hour: Monday through Friday, 4 – 7PM
Head to Havana Central during happy hour for an unbeatable taste of Cuban cuisine in Times Square. The restaurant has sold more than 7 million empanadas, available with cheese, beef, or chicken, and during happy hour, they’re half off!
The drink selection is also outstanding, with tropical cocktails like margaritas, mojitos, and sangrias priced at just $7. For an extra treat, visit on Thursdays to enjoy live Latin music starting at 6 PM, overlapping with happy hour, which ends at 7 PM.
