Now I know what you all are here for, so without further ado, let’s dive into the cutest cafes in NYC.
Cutest Cafes in New York City
#1. Maman
Ask any local about the cutest cafes in NYC and the honest ones will mention Maman. Offering a whimsical and charming vibe, this is one of the most popular spots to meet an old friend.
Originally started as a French bakery and cafe in SoHo, Maman quickly became renowned for perfectly executed baked goods. But what really put them on the map was Oprah listing their nutty chocolate chip cookie as one of her favorite things.
I never miss an opportunity to order the quiche, chocolate croissant or their famous macadamia nut cookie. Plus, they serve some of the best coffee, and it doesn’t hurt this is one of the cutest cafes in New York City.

Felix Roasting Company is an Instagrammer’s dream. This is one of the cutest cafes in NYC, and the photo-taking opportunities are endless.
In a city that has a coffee shop on every corner, the visionaries behind Felix have raised the bar in hospitality, comfort and flavor, bringing the ordinary to the extraordinary.
Velvet lined booths and colorful ceiling tiles make it not only one of the cutest cafes in New York City, but one of the most elegant.
The menu is also unique, with items such as a hickory smoked s’mores latte and an espresso tonic among the most popular drinks.

In 2016 Ryan Butler opened one of the cutest cafes in NYC. Being a chef by trade, Butler curated an exquisite yet simple menu that compliments the delicious coffee by Intelligentsia coffee roasters.
Whether you pop in first thing in the morning or for an afternoon snack, Butler has the perfect hot (or iced) cup of joe for you. The sleek and gorgeously designed interiors makes for one of the cutest cafes in NYC.

#4. Plowshares Coffee
I originally stumbled upon Plowshares Coffee while in search of a quick bite for lunch. Intrigued by the small storefront, I soon realized they are one of the cutest cafes in New York City.
Plowshares Coffee has a spacious interior with tons of seating and outlets along with plenty of plants filling space. The giant windows flood the cafe with natural light and are perfect for people watching.
Roasting their own coffee beans and offering a well curated menu of expertly crafted drinks, this quaint cute cafe in NYC is worth a visit. They serve Bien Cuit baked goods as well, which are some of the best in the city.
Local’s tip: Make sure to swing by the Cathedral of St. John the Divine while you’re in the area, it’s the fifth largest church in the world and the architecture is breathtaking.

#5. Remi Flower & Coffee
Remi Flower & Coffee is a place where cozy meets comfort. This coffee spot doubles as a floral shop making this one of the cutest cafes in NYC. Specializing in the most beautiful hand-tied flower arrangements, their coffee follows in tow.
The latte art alone is worth writing home about. New York City doesn’t cut corners when it comes to coffee and Remi flower & Coffee proves to be true. There is something so posh about drinking your coffee, taking in views of the city and being surrounded by gorgeous flowers.
It’s easy to get caught up in your daydreams hanging out in this cute New York City cafe while sipping on some of the best coffee.

#6. PlantShed SoHo
All my fellow plant lovers will be in a state of euphoria at PlantShed. Their original Upper West Side location has been an oasis in the concrete jungle for more than 40 years. However, the SoHo location is home to one of the cutest cafes in NYC.
The plant craze has been in full swing over the last few years and PlantShed has capitalized by creating a place to enjoy some of the best coffee in New York City all while basking in abundant green foliage.
The plants & flowers are also for sale, so it’s not uncommon to see folks walking out with a latte in one hand and a hanging basket in the other.
Like the other cute cafes in New York City, most of their locations have enough space for guests to bring their laptops and hangout. Whether it’s to get work done or read a book, PlantShed provides a Garden of Eden-like reprieve from the bustling city.

#7. Ralph’s Coffee
Ralph’s Coffee in the Upper East Side is clad with opulence and gives off a very charming, retro vibe. This is one of the cutest cafes in the New York City, as evidenced by the long lines.
It’s not hard to see why both locals and visitors enjoy this cafe so much. Between the elegant decor and knock-out coffee (using La Colombe beans), you’ll feel like a million bucks. There’s a handful of outdoor tables to lounge at, but don’t expect to find any open seats easily because they fill up quickly.
Feel free to order a delicious baked good to accompany your coffee and spend a few slow moments watching the world go by. This is one of the cutest cafes in NYC to get coffee, especially during a chilly, fall day.
Address: 888 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10021

#8. Citizens Coffee
One of the cutest cafes in NYC is Citizens Coffee. Opened in 2016, this Australian-influenced cafe prides itself on its community by building a safe space to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee.
Whenever I swing buy Citizens coffee I am always greeted by an eager staff member who goes above and beyond. The kind staff, delicious food and it being one of the cutest cafes in NYC, I can’t help but keep coming back.
The interior is vibrant and bright, filled with green plants and fun tiled floors. Citizens coffee hit the nail on the head when it comes to creating a welcoming environment.
I highly recommend the Smashing Avocado (avocado toast). It is some of the best food I’ve had at a cute cafe in NYC. Served on multigrain toast, Citizens Coffee adds pickled onion, feta and a beetroot hummus creating not only a delicious meal but a memorable one.

#9. Sweet Moment
If you ever find yourself in Chinatown and you are craving dessert make sure to swing by Sweet Moment. This is one of the cutest cafes in NYC and the treats here are unlike anything I’ve ever had before.
I originally came here to try the matcha latte because I saw their latte art on Instagram and knew I needed one for myself. When I walked in and saw the Bingsoo (milk shaved ice) I immediately changed my order and opted for dessert instead..
Bingsoo is a popular snack from South Korea made up of shaved ice topped with fruit and ice cream and oh my goodness if your mouth isn’t watering just reading that I don’t know what’s wrong with you (kidding..but not really).
The cafe offers plenty of seating and an affinity for K-Pop. When I visited I was shocked to see both younger and older generations coming together at this cute cafe in New York City, but when I tried the Bingsoo it all made sense.
Address: 106 Mott St, New York, NY 10013

#10. Angelina Paris
Stepping foot into Angelina Paris you forget you’re in the heart of a very busy New York City. Located near Bryant Park, this Parisian cafe is everything you want out of one of the cutest cafes in NYC.
Originally opened in Paris in 1903, Antoine Rumpelmayer created a tearoom that exuded sophistication and class, quickly becoming the spot for the Parisian aristocracy to gather.
The tearoom spread to over 9 other countries, including the first U.S. location here in New York City which opened in 2020.
The decor and pastries make you feel like you’ve been transported to Paris and don’t even get me started on their world-famous hot chocolate.
Along with their famous old-fashioned hot chocolate, Angelina Paris is also well known for their Mont Blanc (a pastry made up of meringue, light whipped cream, and chestnut paste vermicelli). The innovative treat dates back to their opening in 1903 and is so popular they sell around 600 a day!
Address: 1050 Sixth Avenue, New York, NY 10018

#11. Davelle
This next cute cafe in New York City is tiny but mighty. Davelle is a Japanese-style cafe, serving delicious food including instagram worthy toast.
The cafe is on the smaller side fitting maybe 10 people inside along with a few tables outside. However, the service is quick and the staff is extremely friendly so we’ve never had to wait.
As one of the cutest cafes in NYC, it only made sense that everything we ordered here fit the aesthetic. The toast is so pretty you almost don’t even want to eat it. Offering different flavors of toast you have the option to go with something savory like ham and egg or something sweet like berry and cream cheese.
I knew this was going to be one of the cutest cafes in NYC after taking one look at the menu. Every item listed is followed with a hand-drawn doodle and it’s simply adorable
The vibe of Davelle is cozy and charming, perfectly tucked into the Lower East Side making it feel like a hidden gem. Along with the famous toast, their menu offers a handful of Japanese meals and drinks (the matcha is everything).

#12. Laduree
Laduree has five locations to choose from, so finding one of the cutest cafes in New York City just got a whole lot easier. Famous for their macaroons, Laduree developed a cult-like following for a reason — they’re some of the best in the city.
The decor is perfectly Parisian and makes for a great spot to slow down and relax in the midst of the bustling streets. The hot chocolate at Laduree is the happy medium for those who like to taste real chocolate in their drink but don’t want the overwhelming richness.
Regardless of what you’re stopping by for, you’ll be rewarded with the perfect sweet treat at one of the cutest cafes in NYC.

#13. Cafe Flor
Cafe Flor is a spacious cafe perfect for drinking coffee and getting work done during the day and for gathering with friends and unwinding with a glass of wine by night.
This cute cafe in NYC is part coffee shop and part retail shop selling florals and home decor. The second you step foot into Cafe Flor you’re greeted with an intense aroma of coffee and flowers so if you’re sensitive to smell this may not be the place for you.
The cafe is filled with flowers and the art on the walls is amazing. There is plenty of seating, so finding a table to enjoy a bite or drink shouldn’t be a problem. You’ll find bistro chairs and green leather booths that add to the charm making this one of the cutest cafes in New York City.
Cafe Flor is laptop friendly and outlets are easy to access so expect to find New Yorkers busy at work with a great cup of coffee nearby.
Address: 218 8th Ave, New York, NY 10011

#14. Devoción
Devoción means devotion in Spanish, and this café is aptly named because they are devoted to serving the best coffee in one of the cutest cafes in NYC.
After hand selecting the coffee plantations in Colombia, the folks at Devoción mill their coffee at their warehouse in Bogotá. Using overnight shipping they then transport it to Brooklyn for in house roasting. From there it is prepared to order and finds it’s way into your cup all within roughly 10 days.
With a handful of locations around NYC, I frequent the Williamsburg location most because it feels very cozy with their exposed brick and warm lighting.
Fair warning though, since this is one of the cutest cafes in New York City finding seating (at times) can be difficult. Domino Park is a five minute walk however, so worst case scenario take in some views of the East River while enjoying your coffee.

#15. Urban Backyard
If you’re a fan of succulent plants and cupcakes this is the spot for you. Urban Backyard is a small oasis in the heart of Little Italy and one of the cutest cafes in New York City.
Popular for their realistic mini cupcakes with frosting piped into the shape of succulents, it’s almost too cute to eat. Offering a selection of unique coffees and teas, Urban Backyard is my go-to spot when I’m in the area and need a mid-day boost.
Urban Backyard strives to be a sustainable business and sells natural and reusable products. They also create all their sauces and syrups in-house, so drinks are made with fresh ingredients.
The space is small but they managed to turn a concrete room into a cozy, rustic escape from the city. Size doesn’t stop this coffee shop from being one of the cutest cafes in NYC.
You’ll find greenery sprinkled all over this cafe and the employees are always eager to give suggestions so don’t hesitate to ask for help.
Something to note: Urban Backyard no longer sells the mini succulent cupcakes in store. You have to pre-order them online and pick up in store.
Address: 180 Mulberry St, New York, NY 10012

#16. Semicolon
One the the cutest cafes in NYC is Semicolon, a Korean-style cafe. The space is clean, modern and spacious with plenty of seating. There is no shortage of plants either, you’ll find the pops of green complement the airiness of the space nicely.
The name Semicolon comes from the symbol, which indicates a pause. Semicolon was created to be a spot for New Yorkers to pause their crazy life styles and take a break before going back into the real world better (and caffeinated of course).
Popular for their delicious Korean sandwiches (a salty-sweet egg sandwich) Semicolon is a great spot to meet up with friends for a quick bite.
Something to note, Semicolon’s goal is to establish a culture of conversation so this is a laptop-free cafe. Folks come here for the interactions and community.
I recommend ordering the Bulgogi sandwich along with he tiramisu latte. But be warned – the sandwiches can get messy so load up on those napkins.

#17. Amano Cafe
The West Village boasts one of the cutest cafes in New York City in Amano Cafe. An airy, light filled shop illuminates the morning and makes the start of New Yorkers day a little brighter.
Amano also handpicks the harvests they purchase before bringing them to New York to be roasted in house. In fact, that’s how they chose their name. In Spanish “a mano” means by hand, a nod to the simplest way to ensure quality.
The boldness of their coffee can be tasted both through simple drip coffee or fun drinks alike. But truthfully, it’s hard for anything to taste bad when you’re in one of the cutest cafes in NYC.
Address: 172 West 4th Street, New York, NY 10014

#18. Kobrick Coffee Co.
Kobrick Coffee Company has stood the test of time and provided locals with some of the best coffee in New York City for more than 100 years. The 4 generations of Kobrick’s who have run the company have really fine tuned the roasting process, getting it down to a science.
In order to keep optimal freshness Kobrick Coffee Co. hand roasts their coffee in small batches. They serve Fair Trade, organic, and Rainforest Alliance certified drinks so New Yorkers can rest assured knowing their sipping on a sustainable cup of Joe.
A full array of bean juice concoctions can be found on Kobrick Coffee shop’s menu. There’s the regular drinks like cappuccinos and cold brews. However if guests are feeling adventurous there’s also the ability to order a coffee cocktail, judgement free of course.
Kubrick Coffee Co. has made our list of the cutest cafes in NYC for those after a more intimate and dark aesthetic. Not everyone wants to be basking in the sun, and that’s okay.
