Post Overview: Best Tribeca restuarants
The best Tribeca restaurants all have two things in common, they will leave you weak in the knees and they will having you wanting to come back for more before you even finish your meal.
Look I don’t make the rules, I just play by them. I moved to New York City ten years ago and quickly found a magnetic pull to the trendy neighborhood. It wasn’t until I did some research that I discovered Tribeca just so happens to be the most expensive zip code in NYC.
It was in that moment that I realized visiting restaurants in Tribeca meant playing with the big dogs. The bar for quality and taste sky-rocketed and my standard for food elevated. So if memorable dishes and exceptional service sound right up your alley, this list was made for you!
Enough of the small talk, let’s get into the best Tribeca restaurants.

Best Tribeca Restaurants
Tribeca Grill
Located in the heart of downtown Manhattan, the instantly recognizable restaurant is considered a NYC landmark by locals. Co-owned by restaurateur Drew Nieporent and famous actor Robert De Niro, Tribeca Grill has been one of the best Tribeca restaurants since 1990.
One of the best things to do in Tribeca is to check out the impressive wine menu, which has won many reputable awards. In fact, every year since 2002, Tribeca Grill has won the Grand Award from Wine Spectator Magazine (which is a big deal in the wine world!).
The grill has an extensive wine list and is one of only five restaurants in NYC to receive the Grand Award.
This Tribeca restaurant checks all the boxes when it comes to food and drinks but what really sets them apart is the exceptional service. With an award as exciting as the Grand Award, it can be intimidating knowing what to order, but the staff is friendly and always eager to help.

Los Tacos No. 1
Perhaps the most well known taqueria in New York City, Los Tacos No. 1 has a lot of well deserved hype behind it. The founders (originally from Tijuana & California) noticed a lack of authentic tacos in New York City and opted to bring that Mexican flavor to Manhattan.
Whilst they’re not the cheapest tacos you’ll find in NYC — they are the best. You can get 2 for around $10 and enjoy one of the best restaurants in Tribeca.
A simple menu pays homage to the traditional flavors of our southern neighbors. Things like corn tortillas made in house (always get corn) and pineapple slivers in their bestselling adobada tacos have helped propel them above their competition.
Even the ambience is authentic. Mexican music plays in the background, there are jugs of aguas frescas (Mexican drinks) and standing counters to eat at rather than tables. Since this is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca, expect there to be a line. Luckily it moves quickly and the tacos are well-worth the wait!

Mudville9
Mudville9 is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca largely thanks to the buffalo wings! And if you order a side of onion rings, just know you’ll be back within the week for more.
Of course you can’t be considered one of the best restaurants in Tribeca without having great booze and Mudville9 checks that box too. There’s a generous amount of beer on tap and even more in bottles, as well as a plethora of wine.
The specialty cocktails are simple but tasty (the passion fruit martini is scrumptious) and you can order your favorite classic drinks too. If you have a hard time deciding what to order just ask your bartender – they’re some of the friendliest I’ve found and always wiling to help.
And if there’s a game you want to watch odds are you’ll find it on one of Mudville9’s TVs. This is the ideal spot for casual afterwork viewing — Mudville9 is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca for sports fans.

Gigino Trattoria
In business for nearly 30 years Gigino Trattoria has become a neighborhood staple and one of the best restaurants in Tribeca. Serving fresh Italian fare in a setting reminiscent of a Tuscan Villa the restaurant has grown loyal fans.
The weathered floors show signs of thousands of locals who’ve stumbled in for a cozy meal. Gigino Trattoria is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca for a date because it can make you feel like it’s just you and your partner.
The menu is simple, largely orbiting around a decent selection of pizzas that are made to order in the rustic oven near the entrance. Most of the pastas and breads are made in house you know they’re always fresh.
Fun fact: One of the owners of Gigino Trattoria made an indpendent film starring Danny Aiello that was largely filmed in the restaurant. Named Dinner Rush and released in 2001, the film is available on Prime Video.

Takahachi
I’ve been on a sushi kick for the last 27 years of my life (I’m 29 by the way) so when I moved to Tribeca I had to find the best Japanese restaurants. Takahachi has been a Godsend for me!
The value Takahachi offers is hard to beat; I could easily be paying twice as much at one of the fancy, flashy sushi restaurants. As one of the best bang for your buck restaurants in Tribeca it’s easy to justify visiting often.
But that’s not say it’s dingy or poor quality. Takahachi is elegant enough for a date but retains an unpretentious neighborhood vibe. You’ll also find fancy sushi like at exclusive restaurants as well as common, every day options.
However, no matter what you order you can’t leave without trying the green tea crepe. Rich, creamy and filling It single-handedly vaults Takahachi to the top of my list of best restaurants in Tribeca.
Address: 145 Duane St, New York, NY 10013
1803
I’ve never been to the New Orleans, but that’s okay because I visit 1803 enough to feel like I have. The Cajun-Creole Tribeca restaurant does not miss its mark, I always leave stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey.
With items like honey chili brussel sprouts, crawfish cakes benedict and buttermilk brine fried chicken (hold on, picking my jaw up off the floor) it’s no wonder my pants seem to be getting smaller.
On occasion there’s a live band that gives the restaurant a French-Quarter vibe, especially if you’re with a lively group of friends. If you’re a brunch fanatic, this Tribeca restaurant just might be the spot to be on a Sunday morning.
Although there isn’t a bottomless option, 1803 is still one of the best boozy brunch restaurants in Tribeca. The full bar at the center of the restaurant is practically begging you to put it to work. All in all, 1803’s ambience and Cajun food makes it a can’t-miss restaurant in Tribeca.

The Roxy
Located inside the Roxy Hotel lobby is The Roxy Bar, one of the best restaurants in Tribeca. Many folks pass by the unassuming spot not realizing the hidden gem that sits inside!
The restaurant has plenty of comfortable seating in a beautiful setting, and if you arrive after 1PM there’s even a live jazz band. To call the Roxy Bar charming would be an understatement.
Amid the lounge-like ambience you’ll enjoy some of the best brunch in Tribeca. You can swing by for a simple coffee and pastry or stay a while to truly savor dishes like brown butter pancakes and NY steak and eggs.
Reservations are encouraged since this is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca. But I’ve found that if you visit early on a weekday you can often be accommodated (no promises, though).
Address: 2 6th Ave, New York, NY 10013

Terra
Terra blends the territory between rustic wine cellar and a modern bright bar perfectly. There are few restaurants in Tribeca better suited for dinner when you’re trying to leave a good first impression.
Like a true wine bar you won’t have to worry about running dry, the staff is attentive and the drinks are endless. There’s an extensive selection of wines available only made better by the food you’ll be enjoying inbetween sips.
Terra is one of the best Italian restaurants in Tribeca so if you’re craving carbs you know where to go. Pastas and breads fill the menu in a mesmerizing medley of plates each sounding better than the last.
At Terra my favorite way to visit is with a good friend in tow and sharing an appetizer while clinking glasses. Cheese, salamis and sweets are available for under $10 each so split the bill and enjoy!
Address: 225 W Broadway, New York, NY 10013
Belle Reve
For those searching for a fun and easy time, consider grabbing drinks at Belle Reve, a low-key bar that always hits the spot.
Serving delicious cocktails and classic American fare (with modern twists), making reservations at one of the best restaurants in Tribeca is a no-brainer.
The beautiful interior and lively atmosphere makes for a memorable night. Something to keep in mind though, if you are coming here to meet with friends, I recommend trying to grab a seat outside.
Since Belle Reve is a bar and one of the best Tribeca restaurants, it can get pretty packed and noisy inside. The bar hosts open mic nights, live music and occasionally a burlesque night, so entertainment is never an issue at this Tribeca gem!
Address: 305 Church St New York, NY 10013

Two Hands
If you’re looking for the best restaurants for brunch in Tribeca, you have to sprint to Two Hands. I’m talking knees to chest folks; you need to get there ASAP because the lines can get long, especially on the weekends.
The popularity of Two Hands is well deserved thanks to an incredible menu that attracts folks from across the city. The lemon poppy seed waffles? Instant paradise. The banana walnut bread? Heaven. On. Earth! (yes, I love carbs).
The Australian eatery makes their food with a focus on local ingredients. That’s why the popular Tribeca restaurant has so many hearty options like salmon-quinoa bowls and seasonal scrambles. The freshness and quality of the meals here are hard to beat
Address: 251 Church St, New York, NY 10013
Añejo
We’re going to a tequila bar for brunch at one of the best restaurants in Tribeca? Let me put on my shoes.
Hey in all seriousness – Añejo has a great bottomless brunch option for $55 (everyone at the table must participate). The table gets 90 minutes of unlimited margaritas, bloody marys, sangrias or mimosas as well as unlimited chips and guac and an order of coconut french toast. Everyone gets their own entree and is practically guaranteed to leave in a food coma.
Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30AM to 3:30PM and you’re not going to want to miss it!
And if you’re not a morning person that’s okay too because as one of the best restaurants in Tribeca, Añejo is able to deliver at anytime of the day. Since it’s a tequila bar you know they make a mean margarita, plus there’s a wide array of other Mexican-inspired cockatils.
If you’re looking for the best bars in Tribeca for flights and tastings Añejo is the spot. There are a nearly a dozen flights that you can order to expand your palette including mezcal, agave and añejo tequila.
Address: 301 Church St, New York, NY 10013
Gotan
A coffee shop on a list of best restaurants in Tribeca, what’s going on? Before I lose your attention just hear me out!
Gotan is considered one of the best coffee shops in Tribeca by many locals and it’s not hard to see why. Finding a seat is usually easy, and it’s not uncommon for folks to hang out for hours because the atmosphere is so relaxed.
But where this place surprisingly shines is with the food options. The reason I consider Gotan one of the best restaurants in Tribeca is because the bites are a step-up from casual coffee shop pastries.
There is a small all-day breakfast menu made up of classics like omelets and avocado toast and handful of salads and sandwiches to choose from. The options are on the healthier side so it’s easy to swing by and grab a quick bite to eat without having to feel overly stuffed.
Not to mention they churn out some of the best coffee in the neighborhood. Serving Counter Culture Coffee (who publishes annual sustainability reports), Gotan has shown a commitment to quality both in their kitchen and in their partnerships.
Address: 130 Franklin St, New York, NY 10013
Smyth Tavern
One of the newest restaurants in Tribeca is brought to us by the Mercer Street Hospitality Group. John McDonald founded the group in 1993 and essentially owns and operates a collection of restaurants throughout NYC.
Make sure to come prepared and in your stretchy pants because you’re going to want to try everything on the menu at Smyth Tavern. Serving fresh fish, juicy steaks and homemade pasta — celebrating any occasion at one of the best restaurants in Tribeca just got a lot easier.
Whether is a small victory or an anniversary, the food at Smyth Tavern is delicious and the atmosphere is delightful.
If you’re a foodie who’s looking to have your mind blown, I recommend ordering the Yellowfin Tuna + crispy potato and the Mafaldine (a butter and lobster pasta dish). I still dream about these dishes, oh and don’t even think about skipping out on the garlic bread rolls!
Address: 85 W Broadway, New York, NY 10007
Walker’s
There’s a fine line between a lively bar and a casual neighborhood restaurant and Walker’s toes it masterfully. When all else fails Walker’s is the safety net that will always catch me, whether I need beer, dinner or both.
The menu consists of wholesome, home-style classics like roasted half chicken, mac & cheese and meatloaf. It isn’t fine-dining by any stretch but one thing is for sure, Walker’s is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca and you’ll leave stuffed and ready for a nap.
There is also an old-school pub vibe to Walker’s which is why I always recommend grabbing a beer here. If you’re lucky enough to sit at the bar you’ll get to enjoy some of the best bartenders in the city who do their job well and make for pleasant small talk.
All this to say if you’re ever in search of a hearty meal and a cold beer Walker’s is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca. The unpretentious, classic American tavern vibe is hard to beat when you’re in need of a casual meal.
Address: 16 N Moore St, New York, NY 10013
Tiny’s & the Bar
Arguably the most adorable restaurant in Tribeca, Tiny’s is located inside a quaint 1800’s townhouse that’s painted a stark pink. The restaurant is aptly named, considering the place is, well… tiny.
That’s all part of the charm though. The cozy restaurant is warm and inviting, perfect for a first date. Serving a small and simple menu you can expect items like chicken and waffles, veggie grain bowls and an egg sando.
I’ll admit the biggest reason Tiny’s is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca is thanks to its charm. Sometimes all you need is a decent meal and a place to hang out. It’s safe to say Tiny’s checks all the boxes.
Address: 135 W Broadway, New York, NY 10013
The Odeon
Opened in 1980, The Odeon is a longtime staple that still attracts consistent crowds. Their famous red neon sign draws folks in like a magnet, and the tantalizing plates keep them coming back.
Serving French-American fare this joint is one of the most iconic restaurants in Tribeca. The Odeon has a simple menu that’s loaded with classic favorites like burgers, steaks and oysters.
There’s also a few sophisticated meals too, like duck leg confit and a yellowfin tuna burger. This Tribeca restaurant serves as the perfect meet-up spot for any occasion.

Frenchette
Winner of the 2019 James Beard Foundation’s Award for Best New Restaurant (which is a national award, might I add) Frenchette has been a welcomed addition to the neighborhood.
Featuring an ever-evolving menu of French inspired fare not only will you have a hard time deciding what to order, but you’ll want to come back to see what’s new.
Albeit one of the pricer restaurants in Tribeca Frenchette is worth the premium. The menu is made up of innovate dishes, a large portion of which are meat-forward. Duck, bass, steak and oxtail all make an appearance in the star-studded lineup.
Plus, Frenchette was also a finalist for the 2022 James Beard Foundation’s award for Outstanding Wine Program. There’s no need to worry about a dry dinner when you’re sipping on some of the best wine available.
Address: 241 W Broadway, New York, NY 10013
Locanda Verde
The upscale Italian restaurant serves beautiful and toothsome dishes making it the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion. Whenever I have out-of-town visitors, Locanda Verde is one of our first stops in the morning.
Regardless of your order (I recommend the frittata caprese, scampi and grits or shaved porchetta sandwich) you’ll understand why Laconda Verde is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca to start your day at.
Plus, there’s a wide selection of unique pastries that make finishing with someone sweet, a must. And if you pair your meal with one of the house made juices you’ll be making plans to come back before you even leave.
Laconda Verde also has plenty of seating that can accomodate large groups. If you’re looking for the best brunch restaurant in Tribeca for a birthday, reunion, or business meeting I highly encourage making a reservation.
Address: 377 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10013
Au Cheval
You’ll find Au Cheval halfway down an unassuming alley in Lower Manhattan, but what it lacks in curb appeal it makes up for in mouthwatering entrees and sophisticated swagger. The Tribeca restaurant is sister to the original Au Cheval diner in Chicago that opened more than a decade ago.
If you’re anything like me and claim to be a burger connoisseur, trust me when I tell you Au Cheval is one of the best restaurants in Tribeca, hell even NYC to get this beautiful creation.
Their burger has long been in the national spotlight and is now the among the best burgers in New York City. A traditional burger with double patties and sharp cheddar, you’ll also get the option to add bacon and an egg. The bacon is thick enough to be a meal itself, and the runny egg bursts on the first bite adding another layer to the burger.
Address: 33 Cortlandt Alley, New York, NY 10013

Bubby’s
No list of the best restaurants in Tribeca can be complete without mentioning the masterpiece that is Bubby’s. Named after the Yiddish word for grandmother, Bubby’s upholds the standard. In fact, Bubby’s has been the top-spot to have brunch in Tribeca for more than 30 years.
Owner Ron Silver describes eating here like the “day after Christmas” and it’s a fitting description. The popular Tribeca brunch spot offers home-style cooking in a city that can often feel big and distant.
As for the star of the show? Pancakes. You can choose between 1890 sourdough, which are thin and tangy, or James Beard pancakes which are in line with the traditional fluffy flapjacks found in diners across America.
You won’t go wrong with either one, but if you really can’t decide bring a friend! This way you can each get something different and sample off of each others plates.
The Tribeca restaurant has a lot more than pancakes too. Take your time choosing but don’t forget to order a side of the homestyle fries, they’re worth the trip alone.
