Post Overview: Best happy hour spots in SoHo NYC
SoHo’s one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York City to catch a mid-week happy hour with coworkers and friends. The cobble stone streets and industrial cast-iron buildings feel oddly enlivening for such a storied neighborhood.
If you’re wondering about the best happy hour in SoHo, I’m your guy (and I aim to please). As a local I’ve taken part in more than a few boozy SoHo happy hours and I thought it’d be helpful to roundup some of my personal favorites.
From chips and margaritas to wine and hummus, SoHo has a tasty happy hour for every palate. With that said, let’s jump right in!

Best Happy Hour SoHo NYC
Pera SoHo
Happy Hour: Monday-Friday 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Pera SoHo is an easy addition to this list of the best happy hour in SoHo for many reasons. Chief among them is the lively outdoor patio that fills the brim with locals during sunny spring and summer weekends. Oozing Mediterranean vibes, the outdoor space feels like paradise.
The best part? You can enjoy the patio in the winter too, when heaters make an appearance and the terrace gets covered. Few SoHo happy hours spots offer such a charming setting, which makes this the perfect place to catch with an old friend over drinks.
You might come for the pretty aesthetic, but the delicious dishes and thirst-quenching drinks will keep you coming back. During happy hour the signature cocktails are $9 a pop — and you don’t need to be a local to realize what a steal of a deal this is for The Big Apple.
Named after a region in Istanbul, Pera SoHo is a Mediterranean restaurant specializing in tasty shared plates and knock-out appetizers. You can choose from a good selection of dips, olives and calamari.
Address: 54 Thompson St, New York, NY 10012
Papatzul
Happy Hour: Tuesday-Friday 2pm to 7pm
Papatzul is a Mexican restaurant that welcomes folks with open arms through bright decor, friendly service and one of the best happy hours in SoHo.
True to form, the popular Mexican restaurant makes a mean margarita that headlines the SoHo happy hour. For $10 you can sip on margaritas or mezcalitas, or $8 well drinks and beer for as little as $6.
There’s also a small but tasty menu of food at the SoHo happy hour spot. Chips and guac will run you $9 and there’s a few more small bites for under $10.
I’ll be honest in saying that Papatzul won’t be getting a Michelin star anytime soon – but the food is good, the drinks are strong and the staff is attentive. What more can you ask for in a SoHo happy hour?
Address: 55 Grand St, New York, NY 10013
Ear Inn
Happy Hour: Monday-Friday 4pm to 7pm
Okay before I get an earful I know the Ear Inn is in Hudson Square, but if you’re looking for the best happy hour in SoHo I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention it. Only a few blocks out of the neighborhood, Ear Inn warrants a visit.
Located on the ground floor of the historic James Brown House (James Brown was an African-American Revolutionary War veteran, and aid to George Washington) the Ear Inn has impressively been in business since 1817.
Originally selling homemade beer and whiskey to sailors docking at the nearby piers, the bar has remained a popular watering hole for centuries. Today the bar serves delicious burgers, beers and pastas to the tune of live jazz.
If you’re looking for one of the best happy hours in SoHo and are looking to bask in a little bit of history make a beeline towards Ear Inn. And even if you don’t care about the history, it’s a great bar that serves cheap booze! Beer can be had between $5 and $9, and during happy hour all drinks are $1 off.
Fun fact: Wondering how Ear Inn got its name? Since the building is a designated landmark the owners aren’t allowed to make any changes without jumping through bureaucratic hoops.
The owners simply opted to get rid of the round parts of the capital B on the sign out front, to make it read Ear instead of Bar and avoid the paperwork of a new sign.

Three of Cups
Happy Hour: Monday-Friday 3pm to 6pm | Saturday & Sunday 4pm to 6pm
I’m hesitant to call Three of Cups a hidden gem considering the restaurant is rarely empty, but I strongly believe it’s underappreciated for the value and immense flavors it provides.
The restaurant is inspiring, welcoming, cute and serves tantalizing food. As if that wasn’t enough, it also makes mouth watering drinks! If you visit for a good ol’ fashioned SoHo happy hour you don’t even have to break the bank enjoying it either.
The aperol spritz is an elite spring/summer drink and there’s few things better than enjoying one for less than $10, brought to you by one of the best happy hours in SoHo. There’s also wine and beer available for those who like to keep things simple.
If the weather is nice consider opting for an outdoor table when visiting for happy hour in SoHo. Three of Cups is on Sullivan Street which is busy-enough to people watch but not so traffic-riddled you’ll be overwhelmed.

Galli
Happy Hour: Monday – Friday 12 to 7PM (Bar only)
Drinking in New York City can get to be expensive, I’m talking taking out a loan expensive. Cocktail prices are borderline robbery! So when I tell you I found a happy hour in SoHo that focuses on fairly-priced drinks — I ran.
Not only is Galli one of the best happy hour spots in SoHo for drinks, it also is one of the longest happy hours running from 12 to 7pm during the week.
You can choose from beer, wine, cocktails or spritzes and it’ll range anywhere from $7 to $12, meaning you can order more than one drink and still afford dinner. 😉
Address: 45 Mercer St, New York, NY 10013
Onieals
Happy Hour: Monday-Friday 3pm to 7pm
Onieals is the place both locals and tourist go to unwind after a long day. Serving the neighborhood since 1995, it’s not hard to see why Onieals has made our list of best happy hours in SoHo.
The beloved SoHo happy hour menu is made up of drinks $10 and under. This includes select beers, wines, cocktails and yes, even shots. 😉
Now I’m not sure if you’re aware but shots at a bar (let alone in New York City) can easily run you $20+, so when Onieals offers well shots for $6…you take advantage!
This SoHo happy hour spot is a good fit for anyone trying to get a buzz for a fraction of the price. Just make sure you order some food in-between so you don’t struggle finding your way home.
Address: 174 Grand St, New York, NY 10013
The Folly
Happy Hour: Daily until 8pm
Visiting The Folly is the closest experience you’ll have to visiting a pirate ship, at least in my opinion. This SoHo happy hour spot is oozing a nautical theme made up of old wood and leather seats.
The menu is made up of American style food with the occasional seafood twist. The happy hour special applies to drinks only but the atmosphere alone warrants a visit.
What makes this happy hour spot in SoHo stand out is that they offer wines, drafts and frozen grogs daily until 8pm. Now I know what you’re thinking, what the hell is a frozen grog? It’s essentially a frozen cocktail but typically made with rum or beer in it.
It sounds pretty wild but tastes surprisingly good! And lucky for you, it’s offered during happy hour so you don’t need to spend a fortune to try this unique drink.
Address: 92 W Houston St, New York, NY 10012
Lupe’s East LA Kitchen
Happy Hour: Tuesday – Friday 3 to 7pm
It’s nice to be able to put aside rivalries between America’s two largest citites, because Lupe’s East LA Kitchen brings Californian Mexican food to the east coast marvelously.
Although the SoHo happy hour destination only offers discounted drinks, the rest of the menu is tempting. After a few of their $10 cocktails it’s hard not to say screw it and order off the full priced menu (I’ve done it myself).
And if you bring some friends the colorful restaurant grows to be that much more fun. It’s near impossible to have a bad time during happy hour in SoHo, drinking inexpensive margaritas and surrounded by good company.
The SoHo restaurant is in the middle of a revamp to their happy hour menu, but I’ll update this post when I have more info.
Address: 142 Mercer St, New York, NY 10012
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer
Happy Hour: Monday-Thursday 3pm to 6pm
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer gained popularity largely thanks to the absurd milkshakes they make. I’m talking rich, colorful, loaded milkshakes that you couldn’t even dream of finishing without gaining three cavities.
But what many folks don’t realize is that Black Tap offers one of the best happy hours in SoHo. The menu is small but the quality is hard to beat. Expect to find appetizers and drinks for less than $10 between 3pm to 6pm.
Although not on the happy hour menu, I highly suggest going out of your way to try any of delicious burgers they serve. They’ve gained acclaim over the years and for good reason. The juicy burgers paired with inexpensive drinks makes Black Tap one of the best SoHo happy hour spots.

SoHo Park
Happy Hour: All Day + Every Day
SoHo Park is one of the only SoHo happy hour spots that runs its special all day, everyday. Yup you read that right, friends!
Located in the heart of the neighborhood it’s not hard to see why this spot is so loved. Offering $7 beer, $8 glasses of wine and $10 select cocktails this SoHo happy hour has stolen the hearts of locals and tourists alike.
The restaurant and beer garden are as charming as can be. The space is filled with greenery and vines that climb the walls and ceilings. And the outdoor patio is the perfect hangout spot when the weather is nice.
Address: 62 Prince St, New York, NY 10012
Boqueria SoHo
Happy Hour: Monday-Friday 2:30pm to 5:30pm
Any sangria fans in the house? If so then run to Boqueria, one of the best happy hours in SoHo. The Spanish restaurant and tapas bar has mastered the drink. I’m going to go out on a limb and argue it may even be some of the best in the city.
Fighting words, I know. But if you don’t believe me go ahead and try some yourself. But make sure to visit during happy hour at this SoHo bar. Glasses of sangria can be had for $8 or pitchers for $32.
Serving a handful of other delicious cocktails and tapas, this SoHo happy hour always hits the spot and leaves your wallet happy.

Dos Caminos
Happy Hour: Monday-Friday 3pm to 6pm & 9pm to close
In a city full of happy hour margaritas Dos Caminos in SoHo just might have the best. There are three options – traditional frozen, the house margarita and a prickly pear, with the last of the bunch being my favorite.
And for those of you who would prefer an ice cold Mexican beer with your food there are options for as little as $6 at this SoHo happy hour spot. You can choose between Tecate, Corona, and Pacifico which form a refreshing duet with the margaritas.
If you’re looking for food there is a mini happy hour menu at Dos Caminos SoHo but it mostly consists of small portions. The queso fundido (similar to fondue) is perfect to share with a friend and as tasty as can be.
Happy hour is only available if you sit at the bar, so I wouldn’t consider Dos Caminos for a good happy hour in SoHo for dinner. It is on the other hand a great joint for a casual and quick drink.
Address: 475 W Broadway, New York, NY 10012
